About us:-
Mechanical department of Malda division is headed by Sr.DME and AME(C&W)/MLDT, AME(Chg.)/BGP & AME(DEMU)/SBG respectively. Mechanical department has C&W and DEMU shed to looks after maintenance & examination of Rolling stocks, Operation & maintenance of Mechanized Laundry with Linen Management of trains & maintenance & operation of ART/ARME/SPARMV. Maintenance & operation of 140 Ton B. D. Crane, Weighbridges, Fire Extinguishers, Motor Vehicle Garage as well as maintenance of DEMU rakes.
The jurisdiction of Malda division is from Malda to Dhanouri, Malda to Poradanga, Malda to Malda link cabin, Bhagalpur –Dumka, Bhagalpur-Banka, Tinpahar-Rajmahal & Jamalpur-Munger.
Carriage & Wagon depots of Malda division are situated at MLDT, BGP, JMP & SBG. The overall cadre of Mechanical Department is 1108 in C&W & 78 in DEMU/Shed/SBG . The most prestigious train of Malda division known as “Vikramshila Express” is primarily maintained by Coaching Depot/Bhagalpur.
