 Howrah Division Inspects Water Installations to Ensure Safe Drinking Water Under Swachhata Abhiyan

Kolkata, August 19, 2025

As part of the o­ngoing Swachhata Abhiyan, Howrah Division of Eastern Railway undertook an extensive inspection of water plants and installations, including filter plants, at Bandel, Talandu, Khanyan, Barddhaman, Bolpur, and Rampurhat. The drive was aimed at ensuring the availability of clean and safe drinking water for passengers and railway staff.

During the inspection, officials conducted thorough checks of water quality at different stages, including pre- and post-filtration processes. This exercise is part of the Division’s continuous efforts to monitor and improve water hygiene standards, thereby safeguarding the health and well-being of passengers.

Howrah Division remains committed to providing reliable and safe facilities under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan mission, while also encouraging awareness about water conservation and hygienic practices. Such proactive measures reaffirm Indian Railways’ resolve to enhance passenger amenities and maintain high standards of public health and cleanliness.
