Since the establishment of Jamalpur workshop, Steam era Loco Pilots were trained at Jamalpur. The control of training school changed hands from Workshop to Technical School (1888-1974) and back to workshop as “Pranali takniki School” (PTS) which was later named Diesel Driver Training Centre(DDTC).Presently, it is Pilot Training School i.e. PTS. Since July’19, the newly constructed PTS campus with integrated Hostel is running at Golf Road, East Colony, Jamalpur. The Diesel Loco (Conventional Loco provided with CCB system) Simulator Centre, the other wing of PTS/JMP is still running inside Workshop premises since 2006
PTS/JMP is situated at the foothills of the Kali Pahar , Jamalpur which is the Paleolithic site and was the location of an important find of quartzite Early and Middle Stone Ages implements .It amidst the pleasant scenic view ,creating the healthy environment .
Scenario of railway transportation service has been changed with the passes of time and to complete with this changed scenario different need based training programs have been designed and implemented.
PTS/JMP is one of the major training institutions of Indian Railway with Cumulative training days capacity is 27400 for the session of 2019-2020. It has its own modern equipped Classrooms , Technical model rooms , Hostels ,Simulator training center ,Recreation club , playground ,Mess ,Wi-Fi facility, an Integrated workshop (railway's largest workshop i.e. Jamalpur Locomotive Workshop),etc.
In reference to this concept, we have made cohesive and purposeful changes in updating the training imparted at PTS /JMP training plays an important role in improving the quality of output, increases employee’s aptitude/skill and make human resources productive.
VISION
Pilot Training School ,Eastern Railway , Jamalpur will emerge as the premier Institute for Railway Training equipped with the state of Art , Technology and using best of the methodology.
MISSION
The mission statement of Pilot Training School is as follows : “To develop the knowledge and skills of running staff and to Effect Attitudinal Change by systematic training to achieve excellence in work and bring about continual improvement in the performance of Indian Railway .”
