The Principal  Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer, Eastern Railway, is the head of the signal & Telecommunication Department of the Eastern Railway. PCSTE reports to the General Manager and co-ordinates with other Principal Heads of Departments. The Principal Financial Adviser (PFA) is the head of the Accounts Department. The PFA’s responsibilities include maintaining the accounts of the Railway in accordance with prescribed rules, exercising internal check on transactions affecting receipts and expenditure of the Railway, compilation of the budget, and monitoring the same, and tendering financial advice. The PFA also performs other management accounting and financial management functions such as providing financial data for management reports, assisting inventory management and participating in procurement and works/services contracting decisions.

The Principal Chief Safety Officer is the Head of the Safety department. PCSO audits the operations on the Railway with respect to safety through inspections, supervision of Inspections, safety audits and other checks.
