Job Profile:

Senior Divisional Safety Officer is the overall inchrge of Safety Department of Asansol Division. His job is to monitor the Disciple & Appeal Rules cases arising out of accidents and review thereof, to assess adequacy of punishmnet by disciplinary, appellate and reviewing authorities. To carry various types of station Inspections (Day and night), Ambush checks, Inspection of Accident Relief Train, Accident Relief Medical Equipment and Cranes, arranging Safety Seminars in the Division, etc. To monitor and ensure compliance of drives issued by Railway Board, Head Quarter and Divisional authorities.

                      Safety is the single most important objective of Asansol Division. Ensuring safety in Asansol division of Eastern Railway is a challenging task due to adoption of multiple train operations system in the division as it serves the densely populated states of West Bengal, Bihar & Jharkhand covering seven districts viz Burdwan and Birbhum in West Bengal, Jamui in Bihar & Dhanbad, Jamtara, Giridih, Deogarh and Dumka in Jharkhand.
                     
                      Safety Branch of the division conducts Safety Drives, Safety Seminars, and Inspections at Level Crossing Gates, Crew Booking Lobbies, Running Rooms, Stations, and Surprise Night Inspections as a regular measure.
