Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Operation) is the officer in immediate charge of crews driving the MEMU, Passenger, Mail express, Goods services and the maintenance and operation of Electric Locomotives and Electric Multiple Units (EMU) stocks outside the electric shed. He is also responsible for dealing with all technical and organisational matters connected with the operation of electric rolling stocks. He maintains close liaison with the Operating Department officials and keeps himself fully conversant with operational problems and evolves counter measures to get over them so far as electrical stock is concerned. He ensures maximum utilization of locos and crews by watching detentions, taking on additional services, improving engine links, etc.
