Safety Brief :
The Safety Organisation, Howrah Divn. is looking after safety related matters of the division for safe train operation.
Safety measures taken as follows:-
·Surprise check during night hours in Station, Lobby, LC Gates, Running Room, Crew Booking are conducted.
·Signal visibility checking by Signal Sighting Committee are being done.
·Periodicalchecking of Track, Coaches, Wagons, Engines, etc. are being done.
·Training of Running Staff., being monitored.
·Foot-plating during ODD Hours by Officers & Supervisors.
·Counseling of Staff.
·Ambush checking at L/C Gate Signals in Automatic and Absolute Block Section.
Safety Seminars are conductedto educate and counsel the ground level staff.
·ART / ARMV Inspection.
·Pantry car Inspection.
·Safety Seminars has been conducted regularly at different Stations & Depots etc. to counsel the railway staff.
·Counseling of Motor Vehicle Driver , Road users have been organized at Gram Panchayet Office, Villages nearer to L/C Gates, Educational Institutes, RTO Office, Village Markets and distribution of Hand Bills, Safety Posters, Poems etc.
·Safety Awareness Campaign is being conducted during International LC Gate Awareness Week/ Day to educate railway users.
Howrah Division utilizes the services of private entities, such as NGOs, as when required.
This division also takes help from NDRF for rescue operation in emergency service.
Safety Training, Counseling & Seminarsare being organised regularlyto all Safety Category Staff to upgrade their knowledge assafety measures.
Trackmen have been deputed round the clock in regular measure by Engineering Departmentfor checking railway track for ensuring safe movement of the train.
