ABOUT US

Jamalpur Workshop was established on 8th February, 1862 as Locomotive Workshop of East India Railway. It completed its Glorious 150 yrs in 2012. The range of products delivered & services rendered by Jamalpur Workshop is among the broadest at Indian Railways.


The major activities of present are  

  • Rolling Stock POH - Diesel Locomotive, BG Wagon, 140T Crane, 20T Crane, 4W-Tower Cars

  • Rolling Stock Manufacturing - Assembly of Diesel Locomotives, BG Wagon (BLCS, BOXNHL, BVZC), 140T Crane

  • Other Manufacturing Activities - Jamalpur Jacks

  • Other Repair Activities - Loco & Wagon Wheels, CTRB OVH

  • Laboratory and Testing - Ultrasonic testing, Radiography, NDT & Destructive Testing and M&C Cadre Control

  • Training - Loco Pilot/ Asst Loco Pilot, SSE/JE, Artisans, Helpers, Welders (Gradation), 140T Crane Drivers , EOT Crane Drivers, Act Apprentices, GoIT, Vocational Training.

  • Colony Maintenance & Sanitation

  • Medical Facility for Employees and Pensioners

  • Maintenance of Electrical Supply for Workshop and Colonies.
