As per initiative and direction of our hon’ble Prime Minister Malda Division has taken intensive cleanliness drive during last one year.


   1.CLEAN TRAIN STATION” (CTS) Service at MALDA TOWN STATION/Eastern Railway Inaugurated on 20.08.2014

Malda Division has started “Clean Train Station” Services at Malda station on 20.08.2014 in several prestigious Mail/Express trains like KanchanJhanghaExp, KamrupExp, Tista-TostaExp, SaraighatExp, Tebhaga Exp. passing via Malda Town in between 6.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs with help of M/s Khagaul Labour Co-operative Society Ltd., Nimtala road, Khagaul, Patna. In this scheme, the coaches are cleaned during scheduled stoppage of passing trains at Malda station, thus help in removing garbage and clean coaches (including toilets) and improve passengers comfort. This facility is available at Platform No-1 to 5 from 6.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs for all Mail/Express trains which have schedule stoppage 15-20 minutes at Malda Town.

2.Mechanized Laundry at Malda:-

To improve the quality of washing of bed roll items i.e. Bed sheet, Pillow cover etc., Mechanized Laundry at Malda has been commissioned on 11.03.2015. The capacity of this laundry is 01 Ton/Shift. The requirement of Linen for all primary Trains MLDT Coaching Depot & two important trains of Bhagalpur Coaching depot is being provided by Mechanized laundry.

 Based on experience and feedback from passengers, Installation of mechanised laundry at Bhagalpur Station is already initiated.

   3.Cleanliness Contract at major stations:-

To   improve the cleanliness, it is decided to outsource the cleanliness activities of major important stations.

Malda Station: The outsourcing cleanliness contract is finalised in December  2014.

Jamalpur Station The outsourcing cleanliness contract is finalised in September 2015.

Bhagalpur Station: It is decided to bring this station under integrated Cleanliness Contract. Tender opened in September 2015.

 In addition, BHW, SGG, SBG and NFK station cleaning contract is also finalised in 2015.

  Cleanliness drive taken during last one year:

 1.Cleanliness drive taken on 02 October 2014. All officers with staff took part in this drive. The various photographs taken is available herein.

2     2.Special cleanliness drive taken from 26/05/2015 to 09/06/2015. The details are available herein.

3.20 stations has been identified for weekly special cleanliness drive on two station each week by local officials. Few reports are available herein.
