
ER TO PROVIDE MORE PASSENGER AMENITIES AT BOLPUR & RAMPURHAT STATIONS
vINSPECTION OF PASSSENGER AMENITIES AT STATIONS IN KHANA-BOLPUR-RAMPURHAT-GUMANI SECTION MADE BY GM
Kolkata, July 7, 2017:
Shri Harindra Rao, General Manager, Eastern Railway thoroughly inspected different stations in Khana-Bolpur-Rampurhat-Gumani section of Eastern Railway’s Howrah Division today and also conducted window trailing inspections over the section to see the track maintenance , signalling system , bridges etc to ensure safe running of trains.
At Bolpur, General Manager inspected waiting hall, foot over bridges, canteen, drinking water provisions and other passenger amenities. General Manager also interacted with the passengers to get a feedback and advised all concerned to provide even better facilities and amenities to the passengers. Shri Rao also visited ER’s Gitanjali Museum at Bolpur station where rare photographs of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and other souvenirs of the Great Poet are preserved.
Shri Rao also conducted inspections at Sainthia, Rampurhat & Pakur stations where he thoroughly checked passenger amenities, cleanliness , safety aspects and observance of safety rules by the on duty staff.
GM advised the divisional officers and staff, to provide more amenities for the passengers especially at stations like Bolpur-Shantinitetan & Rampurhat in this section having rush of tourist and pilgrims, in order to make pleasant travel experience for them while in Railway jurisdiction.
Principal Officers from ER headquarters, DRM/Howrah and other senior officers of the division accompanied GM during the inspection.
