•Ticket Checking Staff Work Relentlessly to Curb Ticketless Travel

Kolkata, July 4, 2024:

In a remarkable display of dedication and vigilance, the ticket checking staff of Commercial Department of Sealdah Division, Eastern Railway, has achieved an impressive feat in ticket checking, resulting in a substantial recovery of Rs. 32,21,085 in fines and fares over the last 10 days (June 21-30, 2024).

During this period, a total of 11,760 cases of ticketless travel and unbooked luggage were detected, highlighting the relentless efforts of the ticket checking staff to curb ticketless travel and ensure a safe and hassle-free journey for genuine passengers.

The ticket checking staff of Sealdah Division has been working tirelessly, conducting regular checks on trains and at stations to detect cases of ticketless travel and unbooked luggage. Their dedication and commitment to their work have resulted in a significant increase in ticket sales and revenue for the railways.

Eastern Railway urges all passengers to purchase a valid ticket before boarding the train, as it is mandatory for a safe and hassle-free journey. Traveling without a ticket not only attracts penalties but also puts a strain on railway resources. By buying a ticket, passengers contribute to the development and improvement of rail services.

Shri Kausik Mitra Chief Public Relations Officer Eastern Railway stated “Our ticket checking staff has been working relentlessly to curb ticketless travel and ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience for our passengers. We appeal to all passengers to cooperate with us in this endeavour and purchase a valid ticket before boarding the train.
