EASTERN RAILWAY TO EASE PASSENGER RUSH WITH ADDITIONAL HOLI SPECIAL TRAINS

•More than 13,000 Berths to be generated.

Kolkata, March 30, 2024:

Eastern Railway is pleased to announce its proactive measure to alleviate the surge in passenger traffic during the festive season of Holi. In response to the overwhelming demand, Eastern Railway will introduce an additional Holi special train service between Malda Town and New Delhi.

Recognizing the importance of facilitating seamless travel for passengers celebrating Holi, Eastern Railway has also taken the decision to extend the services of two existing Holi special trains. The trains will continue to operate between Malda Town & Anand Vihar, as well as Bhagalpur & New Delhi, providing travelers with convenient and comfortable transportation options.

The decision to introduce an extra Holi special train and extend the services of existing o­nes reflects Eastern Railway's commitment to ensuring hassle-free journeys for passengers during this festive period. These measures aim to accommodate the influx of travelers returning to their homes or workplaces after celebrating the auspicious occasion of Holi.

03413 Malda Town – New Delhi Holi Special will leave Malda Town at 07:10 hrs. o­n 31.03.2024, 04.04.2024 & 07.04.2024 to reach New Delhi at 07:30 hrs. o­n the next day and 03414 New Delhi – Malda town Holi Special will leave New Delhi at 10:30 hrs. o­n 01.04.2024, 05.04.2024 & 08.04.2024 to reach Malda Town at 07:55 hrs. o­n the next day. The train will stop at New Farakka, Barharwa, Sahibganj, Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj, Bariarpur , Jamalpur, Dharhara, Abhaipur & Kajra stations over  Eastern Railway jurisdiction enroute in both directions. The train will have General Second Class, Sleeper Class & Air-Conditioned accommodations.

Moreover, Eastern Railway has decided to continue the services of following two existing Holi Special trains:
03435 Malda Town – Anand Vihar  Holi special will leave Malda Town o­n 08.04.2024 &  03436 Anand Vihar -  Malda Town Holi Special  will leave Anand Vihar o­n 09.04.2024. 03483 Bhagalpur – New Delhi Holi Special will leave Bhagalpur o­n 02.04.2024 & 06.04.2024 and 03484 New Delhi – Bhagalpur Holi Special will leave New Delhi o­n 03.04.2024 & 07.04.2024. 

By introducing the Holi Special Train (including extended services), Eastern railway will generate an additional 13,460 berths, providing much needed relief to the surge in passenger numbers during Holi festival.  The booking of Malda Town – New Delhi Holi Special (03413) and the additional run of Malda Town – Anand Vihar Holi Special (03435) & Bhagalpur – New Delhi Holi special (03483) is available through PRS &  internet.

Passengers are encouraged to take advantage of these additional services to facilitate their travel plans and enjoy a safe and comfortable journey with Eastern Railway.
