AGE RELAXATION OF 03 YEARS IN NOTIFICATION NO. CEN 01/2024 ISSUED FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF ALP

Kolkata, January 31, 2024

Recently, notification for Assistant Loco Pilot was issued by Railway Recruitment Board through CEN-01/2024. To remove the misconceptions arising among the candidates regarding this notification, o­n o­ne hand it has been decided to give relaxation in the age limit, o­n the other hand a timeline has also been issued so that the recruitment process can be completed within the stipulated time.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the age of some candidates has exceeded the age limit mentioned in the notification. In view of this, in order to provide relief to those candidates, a relaxation of 03 years has been provided in the age limit mentioned for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot. Now General Category and EWS candidates whose date of birth is between 02.07.1991 and 01.07.2006 can apply for this post. Similarly, OBC (NCL) candidates whose date of birth is between 02.07.1988 and 01.07.2006 and SC/ST candidates whose date of birth is between 02.07.1986 and 01.07.2006 can apply for this post.

Along with this, to complete the process of notification CEN-01/2024 issued for the appointment of Assistant Loco Pilot within the prescribed time limit, a tentative timeline of phased examination has also been issued which is as follows -

1. In the first phase, a target has been set to complete the CBT-1 examination from June to August, 2024.

2. In the second phase, a target has been set to complete the CBT-2 examination in September, 2024.

3. In the third phase, a target has been set to complete the Aptitude Test (CBAT) examination in November 2024.

4. After the Aptitude Test, the shortlist of candidates for document verification will be made by November-December, 2024.

In the next phase of ALP recruitment, there is possibility to issue vacancies o­nce again in January 2025.

Apart from ALP, Railway Recruitment Board is also finalizing the process of issuing a Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) for the reinstatement of Technicians and there is a plan to issue the notification soon. Interested candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website of RRB for information related to upcoming notifications.
