RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE (RPF) CONDUCTED SUCCESSFUL OPERATION AT ASANSOL RAILWAY STATION TO NAB PASSENGERS CARRYING FIRECRACKERS
Kolkata, November 19, 2023:
Eastern Railway’s security team is taking proactive measures at different station to nab passengers entering Railway stations or train compartments with fire crackers or other inflammable articles.
In a raid conducted at Asansol station on Saturday noon (18.11.2023), RPF officials observed an individual, wearing a mask, entering the station premises through the main gate with a trolley bag and pitthu bag in a suspicious manner. Acting on their suspicion, the security personnel checked his trolley bag using a luggage scanner, revealing the presence of firecrackers.
The seized firecrackers were promptly confiscated on the spot in the presence of witnesses. Subsequently, the accused person was taken into custody under the provision of Railways Act for committing a punishable offence.
Similar raids are also continuing at different stations over Eastern Railway viz. Howrah, Sealdah, Kolkata, Dum Dum Jn, Jasidih, Ranaghat, Durgapur, Rampurhat, Malda Town, Bhagalpur , Sahibganj & Bolpur-Shantiniketan.
