Eastern Railway Takes Bold Steps to Enhance Safety in Train Operations

* Howrah Division Implements Innovative Two Track Cantilever System for Signal Relocation

Kolkata, November 18, 2023:

In its unwavering commitment to improving safety in train operations, Eastern Railways' Howrah division has embarked on an initiative to enhance signal visibility in multi-track areas. The innovative Two Track Cantilever System (TTC) and OHE portals have been employed for signal relocation, improving  visibilty of Signals beyound statutory limits and providing Loco pilots with advanced decision-making support.

Already, two signals have been successfully mounted in the Konnagar-Srirampur and Shrirampur-Sheoraphuli sections, showcasing the division's dedication to pioneering safety measures. The improved visibility offered by this relocation ensures that Loco pilots can make critical decisions well in advance, contributing to overall operational safety.

Looking ahead, Eastern Railway plans to replicate this success in the Howrah-Bandel section, with the relocation of two more signals in the near future. This strategic move underscores Eastern Railways' proactive approach to safety enhancement, aligning with its mission to provide secure and efficient rail services.
