REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LIMITED HEIGHT SUBWAY
Kolkata, November 17, 2023:
In a significant stride towards enhancing safety and convenience for local commuters, Eastern Railway is constructing Limited Height Subway (LHS) in lieu of Level Crossing Gates No. 168/C/E (between Bhagwangola & Krishnapur stations) and Gate No. 172/T (between Krishnapur & Lalgola stations). Local residents and commuters using these gates will experience increased convenience and reduced travel time, contributing to an improved quality of life. The LHS also significantly reduce the risk associated with Level crossing providing a safer passage for both pedestrians and vehicles.
This strategic initiative aims to eliminate train detentions, facilitating a smoother and more comfortable journey for passengers. By replacing Level Crossing Gates with Limited Height Subways, Eastern Railway aims to significantly reduce train detention times, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. The new infrastructure contributes to improved safety measures by eliminating the potential risks associated with level crossings, providing a secure environment for both train operations and road users. Accordingly, for construction of Limited Height Subway on Krishnanagar – Lalgola section, 10 hours (from 08:50 hrs. to 18:50 hrs.) Traffic & Power Block has been planned on UP & Down both line at Level Crossing Gate No. 168/C/E and Gate No. 172/T on 19.11.2023 (Sunday). Consequently, following arrangements in train running have been made on 19.11.2023 (Sunday):-
Cancellation of trains (on 19.11.2023):
•UP: 31861 (Krishnanagar – Lalgola)/ Down: 31864 ( Lalgola – Krishnanagar)
•UP: 31769 (Ranaghat – Lalgola)/ Down: 31774 ( Lalgola – Ranaghat)
•UP: 03183 (Sealdah – Lalgola Passenger)/ Down: 03190 ( Lalgola – Sealdah Passenger)
•UP: 31771 (Ranaghat – Lalgola)/ Down: 31768 ( Lalgola – Ranaghat)
Short Termination/ Short Origination:
•03171 (Saldah – Lalgola Passenger) will be short terminated at Murshidabad and 03192 (Lalgola – Sealdah Passenger) will be short originated from Murshidabad instead of Lalgola.
•03143 (Ranaghat – Lalgola MEMU) will be short terminated at Jiaganj and 03196 (Lalgola – Sealdah MEMU) will be short originated from Jiaganj instead of Lalgola.
•13113 (Kolkata – Lalgola Hazarduari Express) will be short terminated at Murshidabad and 13114 (Lalgola – Kolkata Hazarduari Express) will be short originated from Murshidabad instead of Lalgola.
•31773 (Ranaghat – Lalgola EMU) will be short terminated at Jiaganj and 31770 (Lalgola – Ranaghat EMU) will be short originated from Bhagwangola instead of Lalgola.
•03115 (Sealdah – Lalgola MEMU) will be short terminated at Jiaganj and 03198 (Lalgola – Sealdah MEMU) will be short originated from Jiaganj instead of Lalgola.
It may be mentioned that out of a total 34 trains in Krishnanagar – Lalgola section, only 04 UP & 04 Down train will remain cancelled and 06 UP/06 Down train will be short terminated/short originated.
Inconvenience to be caused to the passengers is deeply regretted.
