Sealdah Division of Indian Railways, in coordination with the Scout & Guides, St. John Ambulance, Civil defence, Railway Protection Force and senior Railway officers, is taking unprecedented steps to ensure safety and efficient crowd management for the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.
Durga Puja, one of the most awaited and celebrated festivals in the region, witnesses a massive influx of travellers and devotees. Understanding the need for a meticulous plan, various entities have come together to provide an all-encompassing safety strategy.Key Safety and Security Features:
Crowd Management:- Scouts & Guides will be stationed at sealdah, Bidhannagar, Dumdum, Nahati, Kalyani platforms for assisting travellers, providing necessary information, and ensuring orderly movement of crowds.
Emergency Medical Assistance:- St. John Ambulance will deploy teams equipped with first-aid facilities and ambulances on standby to address any medical emergency that may arise during the festivities.
Enhanced Surveillance:- CCTV surveillance has been increased across the Sealdah Division, with dedicated RPF teams continuously monitoring the feeds for any possible disruptions or safety concerns.
Increased/ Patrols:- Railway officers and security personnel will be patrolling platforms, footbridges, and critical areas, ensuring the safety of travellers and immediate action in case of any untoward incidents.
Information Desks:- Specialized information desks will be set up to guide travellers, providing them with train timings, platform information, and other essential details.
Public Announcements:- Regular announcements will be made, informing travellers about safety precautions, train timings, and any potential changes in schedule.
