Kolkata, 25 September 2023:
The Swachhta Pakhwara programme started on 16.09.2023 and will continue upto 02.10.2023. on the eighth day i.e., 23.09.2023 of Swachhta Pakhwara, ‘Swachh Karyalaya, swachh colonies & parisar (Clean Work place & clean Residential premises) Diwas’ observed throughout Eastern Railway through various programmes and activities.
The 8th day of the Swachhta Pakhwara, marked as ‘Swachh Karyalaya, swachh colonies & parisar (Clean Work place & clean Residential premises) Diwas’ designated to organize and conduct intensive cleaning to clean and improve cleanliness in Railway colonies, Retiring Rooms/ waiting halls Rest house and dormitories etc., installing Bio- Compost facilities at Railway Colonies, Stations Hospitals, and Workshops to segregations at source should be explained to them.
In Sealdah Division, intensive cleaning efforts were carried out at various Health Units, B.R. Singh Hospital, Coaching Depots, loco sheds, Railway colonies, retiring rooms/Waiting halls workplace & residential premises. Plantation activity also took place within Sealdah Division.
Within Howrah Division, efforts were focused on Intensive cleaning, garbage disposal at colonies and hospitals, segregation of waste and provision of dustbins, Tree plantation & landscaping in the premises for beautification Campaigning to educate about benefits of waste segregation using by dry & wet dustbins was also conducted. Intensive cleaning was performed in Rest house, Running Room, waiting room, dormitories.
In Asansol Division, intensive cleaning was carried out at Electric Loco Shed, Hospitals, Coaching Depots, Railway colonies, retiring rooms/Waiting halls workplace & residential premises was conducted. Tree plantation & landscaping in railway premises was also conducted.
In Malda Division and Workshops over Eastern Railway, Swachh Karyalaya, swachh colonies & parisar (Clean Work place & clean Residential premises) Diwas’ was also observed on the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwada
