•Eastern Railway Made Special Arrangements At Rampurhat For The Convenience Of The Passengers

Tarapith which is a famous Shakti Pith, attracts lots of devotees every year especially during Kaushiki Amavasya Mela which is a festival to celebrate spiritual freedom & joy. Eastern Railway every year makes special arrangements for the devotees who overcoming all hindrances come to Rampurhat to join this holy festival at Tarapith.
There is a high influx of devotees at Rampurhat on the occasion of Kaushiki Amavasya Mela at Tarapith this year. The UTS counter sale figure indicates that on the first day of the mela period on 14.9.2023, the ticket sale figure stood at 12595 Nos. in comparison to only 9987 Nos. recorded during the first day of Kaushiki Amavasya Mela last year on 26.8.2022. The UTS counter sale earnings at Rampurhat on the first day of Kaushiki Amavasya Mela recorded as ₹791640 which is 41% higher in comparison to ₹561255/- during the first day of Kaushiki Amavasya Mela of previous year.
In anticipation of such huge rush of devotees at Kaushiki Amavasya Mela, Eastern Railway has made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the passengers at Rampurhat. Six additional UTS ticket booking counters have been opened in addition to the two existing counters. All the eight UTS ticket booking counters are operating on round the clock basis. Moreover, special arrangements for availability of drinking water, cleanliness at station premises and stepping up of the security system have been ensured at Rampurhat. Medical assistance booth also provided at Rampurhat station for the convenience of the passengers.
Officers & supervisory staff of Howrah Division are closely monitoring to ensure comfortable voyage of passengers through Rampurhat station of Eastern Railway.
