On 12.09.2023, getting an information about a private meeting going to take place at the Railway Institute in connection with fake racket for providing job in Railways, a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers, staff of Railway Protection Force (RPF)/Post/Burdwan and Inspector of Detective Wing/Railway Protection Force (RPF)/Burdwan made conducted a raid at Railway Institute near Burdwan Municipal Corporation besides G.T. Road. In a room at Railway Institute, a group of 11 persons were found dealing and exchanging papers for Group - C and Group - D jobs in Railways. All the 11 persons were detained, out of which 07 persons were identified as victims seeking job in Railways.
Sk. Jinat Ali conceded that he along with his associates runs this fake appointment racket since last 01 year in lieu of money @ 04 to 05 lacks per candidate. Being searched, many incriminating documents as (i) one Fake appointment letter (ii) 03 Nos. Fake Blank Service Book. (iii) 06 Nos. Fake appointment form for the post of group-D in Indian Railways. (vi) 07 Nos. Fake Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) Answer Sheet. (v) 01 No. Fake Joining Register. (vi) 01 No. Fake Finger Print Register of candidate. (vii) 01 No. Fake attendance Register. (viii) 03 Nos. of Question Papers containing 04 Pages each (ix) 03 Nos. Identity card Application Form. (x) 01 No. Rubber Stamp of Asst. secretary RRC/Kolkata, Eastern Railway, Chitpur Kol- 700037, (xi) 01 No. Rubber Stamp of Senior Personal officer Railway Recruitment Board, Eastern Railway, Fairlie Place, Kol-01. (xii) 01 NO. Stamp of Indian Railway. (xiii) 01 No. Stamp pad of Faber Castle were found and seized.
All the 07 detained culprits of fake appointment racket with seized forged documents were handed over to Local Police/Burdwan Sadar for further legal action. Presently the case is under investigation.
