Kolkata, September 13, 2023:
The 126th Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) Meeting of Eastern Railway was held under the chairmanship of Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager/Eastern Railway today (13.09.23) at Belvedere Park Officers’ Club, Kolkata. Altogether, 20 members of ZRUCC were present in the meeting including, Shri Giridhari Yadav , Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Shri Arjun Singh, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Smt. Locket Chatterjee, Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Ms Pamela Goswami, Shri Rahul Shaw,& Shri Dinesh William Marandi, Member of Legislative Assembly, Dr. Saumitra Mohan, Secretary (Transport Department)/ Govt of West Bengal, Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager and Principal Officers of Eastern Railway were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the ZRUCC members were informed about recent milestone achievements of Eastern Railway like redevelopment work of stations under Amrit Bharat scheme, green certification of stations/workshop across Eastern Railway, one Station one Product stalls at stations to provide enhanced livelihood and skill development opportunities to local artisans, potters, weavers/handloom weavers, , development of green parks , on-board Housekeeping Service (OBHS), newly introduced trains and additional stoppages of various trains etc.
Apart from this, the recent achievements in enhancement of passenger amenities, beautification of railway stations and creation of more facilities for the passengers were also showcased which was widely appreciated by the ZRUCC members.
In the meeting, General Manager /Eastern Railway responded very positively to the suggestions of the ZRUCC members. Members of the ZRUCC discussed various rail users related issues and offered a number of suggestions in this meeting regarding more passenger amenities, stoppage of train and extension of services etc. The General Manager assured the Members that Eastern Railway is always keen to carefully examine the suggestions of the Members and to implement the various suggestions offered after detailed deliberation of the same.
In the meeting, all the ZRUCC members equivocally said that, under the able guidance of General Manager /Eastern Railway, Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, this Zone is continuously developing its passenger friendly image and is now very responsive Zonal Railway to implement demands examining benefits of commuters & other stake holders.
The meeting is concluded with vote of thanks, delivered by Shri Anand Bhatia, Senior Deputy General Manager, Eastern Railway.
