PROUD PRIVILEGE FOR ER’S LILUAH WORKSHOP

Eastern Railway is continuously striving hard to improve the infrastructural development efforts to enhance wagon capacity as well as to increase the freight earnings. In this direction, Liluah Workshop/Eastern Railway is gearing up to start a new chapter in its performance. Liluah Workshop will undertake the Manufacturing of 400 BOXNHL Wagons in the current year in addition to its periodic Rolling Stock overhauling.
In addition to the above, Railway Board has given the responsibility for converting 400 coaches to NMGHS (Newly Manufactured Goods High Sided). Liluah Workshop is also planning accordingly to take up the work of NMGHS coaches. These coaches are meant to carry newly four-wheeler and two-wheeler from Manufacturing site of distributors all over the country. Liluah Workshop shall be taking up this project also and intense to start turning out NMGHS by Oct.’23.
Both the above two new activities for Liluah Workshop shall also add a feather in the cap of Liluah Workshop as well as Eastern Railway and also contribute progress of the country.
Shri Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer/Eastern Railway said that a few Workshops like Jamalpur of Eastern Railway are undertaking Wagon manufacturing. It is a proud privilege for Liluah Workshop to have been given the responsibility of manufacturing 400 nos. of BOXNHL. It is expected that Wagon manufacturing will begin in Sept, 2023.
