INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY WAS OBSERVED AT ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL HOWRAH


Kolkata, May 14, 2023


Under the guidance of Dr. Debasish Guha, Chief Medical Superintendent, Howrah, International Nurses Day was observed at Orthopaedic Hospital Howrah o­n 12.05 2023. Smt. Shampa Dutta, Assistant Nursing Officer, Howrah and her team organized the event .
 
The birthday of Florence Nightingale (12.05.1820) is being celebrated as International Nurses Day. She was a social reformer, a statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. Dr. Debasish Guha, Chief Medical Superintendent/Howrah, spoke about the role of nurses from the first breath to the last breath of life. Dr. V. Pandey, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent/Health & Family Welfare/Howrah, spoke about the role of women in different spheres of life in general and as nurses in particular.

The nursing staff of the hospital presented their talents through songs, dance, recitation, mime, and a magic show. Rabindra Sangeet was presented by Dr. Anjan Chattaraj, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent/Orthopaedic,Howrah and Dr. A. K. Bhattachrya, Additional Chieh Medical Superintendent, Howrah, recited a poem. Different shades of the art and culture of West Bengal were also reflected in the programme.
