INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY CELEBRATED AT B.R. SINGH HOSPITAL

Association of Railway Nurses of India (ARNI) along with Nursing section of BR Singh Central Hospital celebrated International Nurses Day on 12th May, 2023 at Auditorium of B. R. Singh Hospital.
International Nurses Day is celebrated every year on birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern Nursing on 12th May.
According to International Council of Nurses and WHO, the theme for this year is - Nurses : a voices to lead , "OUR NURSES,OUR FUTURE'" Invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health.
The Program was started by lighting the lamp and 2 minutes silent prayers for covid warriors who lost their life during covid.
The pandemic Covid 19 has seen the importance of nurses and Railway nurses has given their 100% efforts to save the patients without hesitations risking their own lives.
The programme was honoured by Dr. Rudrendu Bhattacharya, Principal Chief Medical Director/Eastern Railway as chief guest. Dr. Sarbani Sengupta, Principal Chief Medical Director/HQ/Hospital B.R. Singh Hospital, Dr. Indira Jha, Medical Director, Dr. B C Roy, Chief Specialist 1, Dr. Gopa Majumder, Chief Specialist 2, Dr. Achintya Sanyal, CMS/ Sealdah & other administrative officers also honoured the programmed.
PCMD/ Eastern Railway has reiterated the significant contribution of nursing staff, without whom the entire healthcare system will collapse. PCMD/ HQ/ B.R.Singh Hospital, Dr. Sarbani Sengupta and MD/ B.R.Singh Hospital, Dr. Indira Jha also congratulated the entire nursing workforce for their dedicated efforts for saving lives.
It was followed by cultural program by the cultural team, Sealdah. All retired nursing personnel were honoured with bouquet and mementos by ARNI. A huge number of nursing staff participated in this programme.
