Kolkata, March 17, 2023:
Acting on a tip-off regarding activities of a fake appointment racket, RPF team of Howrah kept themselves on a high alert to nab a fake job racket conducting their activities around Howrah station area. Officers and staff of CIB/RPF/Howrah conducted surveillance at Howrah station area on 16.03.2023 and apprehended two (02) persons named Aniruddha Kumar and Sailendar Kumar, when they were dealing with seven young job-seekers outside gate no. 4/5 in front of SBI ATM at Howrah station Old Complex. on interrogation, the RPF revealed that those seven youths are the residents of Bihar and they came there to get appointment letter for Railway job. The fake job racket demanded ₹ 5 lakhs for the job and some of them have also paid a good amount in advance.
On examination the appointment letters handed over to the job-seekers by the apprehended racketeers were found fake. The apprehended fake job racketeers were handed over to GRP/Howrah while the GRP has registered a case under various sections of IPC and started thorough investigation.
Shri Kausik Mitra, CPRO / ER said that Eastern Railway continuing strict vigilance at all its offices, divisions and workshops to curb the fake job racket. Any type of information regarding activities of fake job racket is being taken seriously with subsequent raid conducted to bust the job racket. It is an appeal to all job seekers by ER, time and again, that Railway job can be obtained only by proper procedure through RRB or RRC selection and NOT TO FALL PREY TO FAKE JOB RACKET. Eastern Railway continuously spreading awareness through ‘360-Degree Awareness Campaign’ against the Fake Job Rackets.
