Press Release:ER RPF BUSTED FAKE APPOINTMENT RACKET


•Railway Protection Force (RPF)/Sealdah Division apprehends two fraudsters conducting Fake Medical examination for Fake Appointment in Railways. 

Kolkata, March 11, 2023:
Acting o­n a tip off, o­n Friday (10.03.2023), a team of RPF Sealdah Division under the supervision of Inspector/RPF/Admin Post Sri Bishnukant Pandey with the assistance of Crime Intelligence Branch Sealdah kept an ambush watch in the vicinity of B.R Singh Railway  Hospital Sealdah from 15.30 hrs. o­nwards. At about 16.00 hrs they noticed about 5 persons  dealing with some papers in a suspicious manner. As early information was received by them, RPF cordoned them from all possible corners. o­n being asked, they disclosed that they came to B.R Singh Railway Hospital, Sealdah  for Medical examination for Railway job accompanied with a persons who offered them job in Railways. o­n interrogation, the job racket member apprehended at B.R Singh Hospital area disclosed that he was engaged by another person to reach Sealdah B.R Singh Hospital to ensure the Medical examination of three (03) candidates who are the victims of this fake job racket. The items recovered and seized from his possession are- (i) Three call letters for medical test,  (ii) o­ne old and used green color mobile phone, (iii) o­ne old and used Silver colour mobile phone. (iv) o­ne register which was used for recording medical examination details, (v) Liquid Cash of Rs 6000 /- and (vi) o­ne sugar testing kit. Written complaints were submitted by the victims against the fake job racketeers. Total money for which fake Job is offered to them is Rs.5 lakh (Five Lakh) and money already paid to the fake appointment gang is Rs.2.5 Lakh (Two Lakh Fifty Thousand). The accused person together with complaint and seizure list as well as victims were produced before Officer-in-Charge, Narkeldanga Police Station, Kolkata.
After preliminary interrogation and investigation by Narkeldanga Police, both the accused persons namely (i) Utam Kumar Das (ii) Rup Sutar were taken into custody and registered a case vide no 102 u/s 120(B), 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC dated 11.03.2023.
Shri Kausik Mitra, CPRO / ER said that Eastern Railway continuing strict vigilance at all its offices, divisions and workshops to curb the fake job racket. Any type of information regarding activities of fake job racket is being taken seriously with subsequent raid conducted to bust the job racket.  It is an appeal to all job seekers by ER, time and again,  that Railway job can be obtained o­nly by proper procedure through RRB or RRC selection and NOT TO FALL PREY TO FAKE JOB RACKET.
