Kolkata, March 12, 2023:
As a part of ER’s endeavor for better ambience at Railway premises, Howrah Division of Eastern Railway is conducting a successful dismantling programme of old and dilapidated structures at Rampurhat and Bolpur area. These structures were unsafe and in worn out condition due to aging and weathering effect.
A total of 248 old structures were approved for abandonment in the Rampurhat section, out of which 102 structures have already been dismantled, 5360 sq m of land have been freed, and the rest are undergoing demolition.
Similarly, 154 old quarter were approved for abandonment in the Bolpur section, out of which 129 quarter have already been dismantled, 4248 sq m of land have been freed, and the rest are undergoing demolition.
