Railway Protection Force (RPF), Eastern Railway maintaining their strict vigilance to curb antisocial activities in Railway premises as well as providing a sense of security to the passengers, goods transporting through Rail network o­n 24x 7 basis. They have also made commendable work to extend guidance and assistance to the rail users besides their task of ensuring security to the Railway property and passengers. In this direction, some of the noble activities of RPF during the year of 2022 are citrd below. 

       RPF/Eastern Railway rescued 471 minor/teenage boys, 331 girls and 66 male/female persons from different Railway Stations and Railway premises of Eastern Railway. All of them were handed over to their respective parents/NGOs o­n proper verification & documentation.        During this year, 644 male & 245 female injured/ill persons were rendered assistance by RPF/Eastern Railway and shifted to nearest hospital for their  treatment. 

        RPF/Eastern Railway has recovered 9.9843 kg Gold valued ₹63544010/- & 466.33 kg Silver ornaments of valued ₹35774544/- and arrested 18 persons under the Jurisdiction of Eastern Railway. They also recovered 1762 Nos. of left behind luggage/bags/articles containing personal belongings/Mobile Phones/Laptop/Cash/Ornaments etc. valued ₹28573778/-   from different Stations/trains over ER’s jurisdiction & were handed over to the respective owners o­n proper verification & documentation. During this year, they recovered Cash of ₹63598880/- and arrested 22 persons over the Jurisdiction of ER.

      RPF/Eastern Railway has recovered 60076 Packets of Cigarettes valued ₹12940400/-, 155.2 kg tobacco valued ₹883220/-, 455.7 Kgs Foreign goods valued ₹300000/-, 4584 Cartoons body spray of valued ₹1955332/-, over the Jurisdiction of ER. During this year, RPF/Eastern Railway arrested 367 persons involved in the theft of passenger belongings and other IPC crime with recovery of stolen Mobile Phones/articles valued ₹8691094/- (approx.) and deadly weapons. The arrested persons were handed over to the concerned GRP/Local Police authority for taking legal action under appropriate sections of IPC.
