SMT DARSHANA JARDOSH, HON’BLE MOSR HOLD REVIEW MEETING WITH ER & SER

                               *Hon’ble MOSR inspected at Howrah Station 


Kolkata, November 12, 2022:


Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Textiles, Govt of India reviewed the performance and development initiatives of Eastern Railway and South Eastern Railway in a meeting at Belvedere Park, Kolkata today (12.11.2022). Hon’ble Minister also took stock of passenger amenities available at different stations in the jurisdiction of ER & SER. 

General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Additional General Manager of Eastern Railway and the Principal Head of various departments were present in this meeting. Shri Jaideep Gupta, Additional General Manager/ Eastern Railway appraised the Hon’ble MOSR regarding various recent achievements of ER like 100% electrification of Railway traction, record growth in freight traffic, commissioning of Asia’s second-largest electronic interlocking system at Bandel, commissioning of lifts and escalators at different stations, renovation of Food Plaza & Jan Aahar canteen etc.

Later, Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Textiles also visited Howrah Station to inspect the condition of passenger amenities available. She visited the o­ne Station o­ne Product (OSOP) stalls at New Complex of Howrah, ‘Amar Kutir’ stall at Old Complex of Howrah which is a joint venture between Amar Kutir Society and Eastern Railway Women’s Welfare Organization aiming at Rural Development by providing training for self-employment, Executive Lounge, Child Help Desk Kiosk and various passenger amenities at Howrah Station and expressed satisfaction o­n the standard of the same. Hon’ble Minister also said that passenger satisfaction is the ultimate and all the Railway fraternity should try their level best to provide quality amenities to their passengers as well as smooth operation of train services.

Hon’ble MOSR, Smt. Darshana Jardosh interacted with “Meri Saheli” team of RPF at Howrah to strengthen the security of women while traveling in trains. She also visited the famous giant clock ‘Baro Ghori’ at Howrah and the historic place from where the first train in Eastern India chugged off from Howrah station o­n 15 August, 1854.
