ER CELEBRATED BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF ACHARYA VINOBA BHAVE AS A PART OF OBSERVANCE OF ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MOHOTSAV’

Kolkata, September 13, 2021:

 

            As part of observance of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'’ to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence, Eastern Railway has organized celebration of birth anniversary of eminent freedom fighter Acharya Vinoba Bhave at the cultural room of Eastern Railway Headquarters o­n 13.09.2021.

         Shri Aneet Dulat, Additional General Manager, Shri Mahavir Singh, PrincipalChief Personnel Officer, Shri Anjan Ray, CPO (IR) and other officers of Eastern Railway offered floral tributes to the portrait of Acharya Vinoba Bhave.

        Acharya Vinoba Bhave, advocate of non-violence and human rights, was born o­n 11.09.1895.He is known as spiritual successor of Mahatma Gandhi and is widely known for 'Bhoodan' and 'Gramdan' movement.In 1958, Sri Bhave was the first recipient of the international Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1983.
