4TH  OXYGEN EXPRESS TRAIN FROM DURGAPUR TO DELHI

                       •        Green Corridor created for faster movement of Oxygen tankers
                       •Railways running Oxygen Express trains to meet up the requirement of Medical Oxygen

Kolkata, May 5, 2021:

     Railways continuing the movement of Jeevan Rekha Express (Oxygen Express) trains in a mission mode and transporting Liquid Medical Oxygen successfully to different corners of the country to fight back the second wave of COVID-19.  Oxygen Express trains are continuing journey to different corners of the country for bringing relief to COVID-19 patients. Today (5.5.2021), Eastern Railway ran o­ne more Jeevan Rekha Express (Oxygen Express) train with from CTDI Siding at Durgapur to Delhi  as a part of IR’s endeavour to meet up the need of medical oxygen at different corners of the country, through fast transportation of Liquid Oxygen Containers.

      Loading of 6 oxygen containers in this Oxygen Special train (consisting of BLC type wagons) started o­n at about 12:50 noon today (5.5.2021) at CTDI Siding, Durgapur. The train is carrying a total  of 120 Tons of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 6 Oxygen Containers. Each of the six containers has the capacity of loading approximately 20  Metric Ton  of  liquid Oxygen.

        The Oxygen Express train passed Durgapur at 13:55 hrs o­n 5.5.2021 and will run through a Green Corridor with a maximum Speed of 75 KMPH via. Asansol - Dhanbad- Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Jn.  route to Delhi. The expected time of arrival at Delhi is within  24 hours.

    The green corridor is created for the faster movement of these tankers and monitoring of movement was done at the apex level as we know that it’s a difficult time for our Nation and Nation is first for us.
      Railways transported essential commodities and kept the supply chain intact even during the lockdown last year and continue to serve the Nation in times of recent emergency in the wake of second wave  of COVID pandemic.
