BELUR SCRAP YARD EARNED RS.6.69 CRORES BY SELLING 
RAILWAY SCRAP TODAY

Kolkata, April 26, 2021:

During the crucial period of deadly 2nd wave of COVID-19, the Belur Scrap Yard of Eastern Railway has succeeded to earn record Rs.6.69 crores by selling Railway scrap during e-auction held today (26.4.2021).

Belur Scrap Yard Depot has also earned Rs.88.20 crores for Eastern Railway which is the highest sale by any depot of Eastern Railway in the last financial year 2020-21.

The basic objective of selling Railway scrap is to boost up Railway earnings during the crisis period, which is an exemplary achievement to start the new financial year. The scrap selling is a part of materials management and provides generating alternative source of earning from non-performing assets like scrap materials.
