REMARKABLE GROWTH IN FRIGHT TRAFFIC IN ER’S MALDA DIVISION
•Record Freight Loading in ER during 2020-21
Kolkata, April 2, 2021:
Eastern Railway’s Malda Division has achieved a remarkable growth in freight traffic during F.Y. 2020-21. The total freight loading in the division during 2020-21 increased to 15.089 Million Tonnes in comparison to 13.753 Million Tonnes in the previous financial year, thus achieving a growth of 9.72 %.
The Stone Loading in ER’s Malda Division improved by 33.80%, which is 7.462 MT compared to 5.577 MT during the corresponding period of previous year, whereas Cement loading improved by 16.99, Fly Ash loading improved by 43.28% and loading of other commodities improved by 23.54% in 2020-21 in comparison to previous year.
ER’s Malda Division has also achieved highest ever loading of 36 rakes (1687 wagons) in a single day on 31/03/2021 compared to previous best record of 33 rakes(1600 wagons) on 31/03/2019.
Eastern Railway in total has also achieved a record freight loading of 67.86 Million Tonnes during 2020-21 surpassing the previous best of 67.64 Million Tonnes in the year 2018-19.
