Shri Babul Supriyo, Hon’ble Minister of State for Environment, Forest & Climate change, Govt. of India inaugurated  Renovated Station Facade at an approximate cost of Rs. 16 lakhs and Upper Class Waiting Room at an approximate cost of Rs. 7 lakhs at Raniganj station through video conferencing today (25.2.2021). 

Speaking o­n the occasion Shri Babul Supriyo, Hon’ble Minister of State said that Raniganj is an important business belt and as such large number of passengers used Raniganj station of Asansol Division for inward and outward journey. Renovated Station Facade and Upper Class Waiting Room are among the various steps towards further development of passenger amenities as well as passenger comfort.

It is stated that renovated facade at Raniganj station includes soft upgradation and improved aesthetics of existing infrastructure. The Upper Class Waiting Room provides passenger amenity resulting in better and improved facilities. There is provision of toilets, train information system, improved ambience etc.

Shri Sumit Sarkar, Divisional Railway Manager, Eastern Railway, Asansol was present in the video conferencing. All the branch officers of the Division were also present at the New Conference Room, DRM’s office/Asansol.
