RIGHT TO INFORMATION, 2005
Eastern Railway has set up a structure to deal with RTI matters comprising Appellate Authorities, Public Information Officers (PIOs) and Assistant Public Information Officers (APIOs) nominated from all key departments.
Eastern Railway comprises eight set-ups under RTI. These are :
1. Eastern Railway Head Quarters
2. Sealdah Division
3. Howrah Division
4. Asansol Division
5. Malda Division
6. Liluah Workshop
7. Kanchrapara Workshop
8. Jamalpur Workshop
Contact details of APIOs, PIOs and Appellate Authorities for all the above set-ups in respect to Right To Information Act, 2005 are shown below.
Fees and Cost of information under RTI Act, 2005 |
(1) | For obtaining information from the designated PIOs and APIOs by any person (individual) one can send his/her query/queries along with the prescribed fees and costs payable for seeking information under the Right to Information Act, 2005 as mentioned below. |
(a) | Request for information under sub-section 1 of section 6 of RTI Act 2005 shall be accompanied by an application fee of `10/- (Rupees Ten) only by way of Demand Draft (DD) issued by any recognized bank in India or Indian Postal Order (IPO) in favour of "FA & CAO, Eastern Railway, Kolkata" payable at Kolkata (for both the instruments) or RTI fee receipt (journey ticket like slip) issued by any suburban/non-suburban railway station ticket counter. |
| The envelope containing the application and fee shall be sent to the respective address of the PIO/APIO clearly mentioning on the envelope "Information under RTI Act, 2005. Please see “Queries to be sent to” section below for the name and address of the PIO/APIO. |
(b) | For providing information under sub-section 1 of section 7 of RTI Act 2005, the fee shall be charged by way of a demand draft, IPO issued in favour of "FA & CAO, Eastern Railway, Kolkata" payable at Kolkata at the following rates :- |
(i) | `2/- (Rupees Two) only for each page (in A4 or A3 size paper) created or copied. |
(ii) | Actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper. |
(iii) | Actual cost or price for samples or models. |
(iv) | For inspection of records, no fee for the first hour and the fee of `5/- (Rupees Five) only for each subsequent hour (or fraction thereof). |
(c) | For providing the information under sub-section 5 of section 7 of RTI Act 2005, the fee shall be charged by way of a demand draft, IPO issued in favour of "FA & CAO, Eastern Railway, Kolkata" payable at Kolkata at the following rates :- |
(i) | For information provided in diskette or floppy ` 50/- (Rupees Fifty) only per diskette or floppy. |
(ii) | For information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or ` 2/- (Rupees Two) only per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication. |
