OPERATING DEPARTMENT

1.0GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1The Operating Department, Malda is headed by Sr. Divisional Operations Manager assisted by one Divisional Operations Manager (G), three Asstt. Operations Managers and one AreaOfficer stationed at Bhagalpur.


                                     


                                                                        

1.1Malda Town,New Farakka, Sahibganj, Bhagalpur and Jamalpur are five major stations of Malda Division being supervised by Station Superintendent. Other mediumand smaller stations are being looked after by the Sectional Traffic Inspectors, as detailedbelow:

Seven Sectional TIs are sanctioned two each at New Farakka, Bhagalpur, Jamalpur and one at Sahibganj. TI/Man-power Planning, TI/Trans Planning, TI/IT, TI/Control, TI/HQ and TI/Chaser are stationed at Malda Town to assist the Divisional working. Malda Town, Bhagalpur and Jamalpur Yards are functioning under supervision of CYMs posted thereon.

2.0Some important achievement of 2016-17

Highest Wagon Interchange

·Division achieved average per day interchange of 3927 EWU in the month of August 2016 which is highest Interchange in the year.

Highest Punctuality

·Highest ever punctuality achieved in this year is 98.4% for Mail/Express during the month of May 2016 and 92.7% for passenger trains in the month of July 2016. 100% punctuality markhas also been achieved on 11 days in this Year.

Goods Earnings

·During August 2016, we achieved goods earnings of ` 68.08 crores, as compared to ` 43.62 crores in same month of last year i.e an improvement of 56.08% and we are also 13.46% above the target.

Upto August 2016, we achieved goods earnings of ` 318.11 crores, as compared
to
` 251.81 crores  in same month of last year i.e an improvement of 26.33% and we are also 10.23% above the target.

Goods Loading

·Revenue loading in August 2016 was 1.436 million tonnes as compared tothe same period of last year 0.828 million tonnes i.e an improvement of 73.43% and we are 29.60% above the target.

Upto August 2016, we achieved Revenue loading of 6.479 million tonnes as compared to the same period of last year 4.845 million tonnes i.e an improvementof 33.73% and we are also 21.53% above the target.

Wagon Turn-Round

·Wagon Turn-Roundof the division is maintained at the level of 1.3.
