Any person engaged to clean sanitary latrines by flushing water in railway passenger coaches, station area, railway tracks in station area shall be provided the following equipment.

A.

Protective gear such as –

(i)

The uniform along with water protective apron;

(ii)

The face mask or nose mask;

(iii)

The gloves and

(iv)

The boots.

B.

Devices such as –

(i)

The broom with long handle;

(ii)

The toilet commode brush or any equipment for removal of chocking of toilets used in coaches or any other mechanized equipment identified by Railways for such purpose.

Railway authority empowered for taking action and report:-

(a)

The Additional Divisional Railway Manager of the jurisdiction of respective Divisions and for Institutes, Workshops, Sheds etc. falling in Division’s jurisdiction. 

(b)

The Senior Administrative Grade or Junior Administrative Grade Officer of the Department maintaining sanitation in the jurisdiction of respective Production Units or Research Designs and Standard Organization.

(c)

Officer nominated by (a) or (b) above along with Health or Commercial Inspectors, wherever assigned the duties of monitoring cleanliness.
