Shops Under Diesel Organization:-

Activity :-

Diesel POH Shop:-

·POH OF DIESEL LOCO - This activity was started in the year 1982 along with repair of steam locomotive. After closure of steam loco activity, it has become one of the major activities of the workshop catering to the full demand of E.Rly. and E.C.Rly. Apart from POH some other schedule activities like IOH, M-24, SR are also undertaken as per advice of Head Quarter.The class of loco undertaken here is WDM2, WDM2A, WDM3A, WDM3D, WDG2, WDG3 & WDS6R.

·REHABILITATION OF ACCIDENT DAMAGED DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES – Over the years Jamalpur Workshop has been actively involved in the rehabilitation of Accident damaged locomotives. Both Railway and Public Sector locomotives, which are badly damaged, are commissioned successfully.

·REPAIR OF PSU LOCOMOTIVES – Various PSUs such as NTPC/Khalgoan & Farakka, CPT, SAIL are having locomotives, which are critical for their outturn. This Workshop, being a specialized loco repairer, caters to the needs of all PSUs in the eastern region. Starting from a very humble beginning in the year 1987, the activities of repair of PSU locomotives came to a firm footing by 1996-97. Conversion of RITES loco from YDM4 to WDS6 locomotive, using YDM4 power pack is also being carried out. 1st successful conversion of RITES loco No. 122 complied on 31.01.2012. and since up to Sept'2014 total of 6 conversion of RITES loco successfully complied.
Notable point is that up-gradation of "E" type excitation system has been implemented from 4th RITES loco (R-135).  

      PSU Revenue Inflow (June'17) : NIL    
PSU Revenue Inflow  (April'17 - June'17) Cumulative: Rs.1,89,95,300.00

          The total cash inflow from  194 locos ( 188 PSU locos + 6 RITES loco) locomotives repaired up to June'17  is  Rs.79.72 crore.

Traction Machine Shop:-

·Rewinding and Overhauling of Traction Motors of all class for POH and Divisions.

·Repairing and Overhauling of Traction Generator and Traction Alternator for POH and Divisions.

Diesel Component Shop:-

.Overhauling of Diesel Components, i.e. FIP Support, Valve Lever, Vibration Damper etc.

·Reconditioning of Equalizer beam,WDM2 , WDM3A, WDM3D & WDG3A gear case..

·Manufacturing of some Diesel items, i.e. Oil Seal for TSC, Bushes for Valve Levers.
i) Manufacturing of  WDM3A, WDM3D & WDG3A gear case.

Sheet Metal Shop:-

·Manufacturing of Diesel Components.

·Manufacturing of Wagon items.

·Repair activities of Diesel Loco.
