Inventory Management:

Jamalpur Stores Depot is one of the biggest stores depot of Eastern Railway. About 3915 items (2095 stock and 1820 Non stock) are dealt with at Jamalpur depot. Material and Inventory Management is given great importance. Material worth Rs. 236.22 crores was issued last year with a Turn Over Ratio (TOR) of 9.43%. Figures of Receipt, Issue, Balance & TOR for last four years  are given below (Value in crores).

Scrap Disposal:

Jamalpur Depot is one of the main Depot dealing with the disposal of scrap materials received from the Divisions and Workshops. This year 66.67 crore earned through auction sale

STORES DEPOT:

  • Jamalpur Stores Depot basically stocks & feeds material related to Wagon POH & Diesel Loco POH. 

  • It also has custody ward to feed manufacturing activities like 140T Crane, BLC and BOX N wagons etc. 

  • The Depot stocks nearly 2219 stock items. It also keeps in custody nearly 2371 non-stock items.

Total Strength of the Depot

The depot is headed by DY CMM who is assisted by SMM and two AMMs.

Ø e-Procurement through IREPS web portal managed by CRIS has been implemented at JMP Depot. i-MMIS is under implementation w.e.f 01.04.2015. Today Vendor Rating, Performance Repot, Demand Review, Red Slip, is regularly printed from the computer. Several exception reports are also available on-line on the system which helps in monitoring the inventory and availability of items. Wards are also completely computerized .

ØOn the basis of our turnover (issue value of stock items is Rs 255.64 cr and that of non stock items is approx Rs 63.85 cr) and on roll staff ( 399 no. group C and group D staff ) , Jamalpur Depot is far ahead than any other Depot of Eastern Railway so far as output to manpower ratio is concerned.

ØWe handle approximately 12000 MT of steel and 15000 MT of ferrous scrap.

Ø JMP Stores Depot received best store depot shield of Eastern Railway for 2008 - 09 & 2009 - 2010,2010-11, & 2013-14.

CCTV has been installed at ward, yard and office for better monitoring and surveillance.
